flashign earlier hitachis before 0078fk....what abut the drive key?

hi,

my friend wants his drive flashed and its an early hitachi so looked it up as i jsut gflashed my 0078fka nd its even easier BUT...when you download the ixtreme 1.4 firmware. and then run the command to flash the drive does it automatically get the drive eky from the original firmware?

i know you automatically get a dump from your original firmware saved to you computer but is the formware thats just been flashed top the drive copy then drive key in the process of flashing and insert it into the ixtreme firmware?

with the earlier hitachis everything is done for you. just run the flashix.bat command do not even use the firmware toolbox. i find that with all hitachis before the 78k it is very buggy. but you can still use the slax cd to get it into mode b.

hi,

no i wasnt planning on uisng toolbox as it seems unnessecary as youve said it does the work for you in the way that it automatically inserts the key etc.

but yes thats cool. il tell him its possible :D
