how can I dawmgrade or upgrade my firmware 2.71 the easers one and download games to my mm stick is a present for my son pleeese help

before you downgrade you need to check which motherboard you have

there are two different downgraders for a psp with 2.71 firmware


if you have a pink psp it's a ta-086 motherboard

see this picture to see if you have a ta-082 motherboard

if you have a ta-082 or a ta-086 motherboard you will find the guide under "-2.71 PSP (TA-82 or TA-86)" click in the show button


if don't have a ta-082 or a ta-086 you need to use the generic downgrader ,you will find the guide under "-2.71 PSP" click in the show button

Ok, I have one 1001 -IC1003 Version 2.71 and another one is IC1003
120v but version 2.60
K which one can I dawngrade or both I hope......

actually the 2.71 is 120v K and the other is IC1003 version 2.60

all psp's can be downgraded


if in both psp's you see the number IC1003 like in the picture from this guide

then both psp's have ta-082 motherboards and you need to use the
"-2.71 PSP (TA-82 or TA-86)" downgrader

the psp with 2.60 firmware first you need to upgrade to 2.71 in order to use the downgrader
download the 2.71 firmware eboot from here
http://dl.qj.net/index.php?pg=12&fid=8046&catid=163

rename the 2.71 firmware eboot to EBOOT.PBP if the file is named "somenumber_eboot.pbp "


to upgrade you need connect your psp via usb to your pc to create a UPDATE folder (with capitals) inside the GAME folder ,then inside the UPDATE folder put the EBOOT.PBP

MS:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\EBOOT.PBP

then in the xmb menu (psp menu) go to game -»memory stick and run the update

Ok THANKS for the tips, I already download to my computer from the site,but a little push more so I can finish Where can I found exact instruction step by step how to extract folder and to the MC and PSP..... I know I'm a NB

if you need a guide to extract files you can find one here but some pics are missing

you need to install winrar then in the rar file that you want to extract ,right click -»extract files

you need to conect your psp with a usb cable to your pc to transfer the files from your pc to the memory stick ,in the psp menu there is a option for usb connection
