I just bought my PSP today, so I'm new to this stuff. Its a Slim & Portable and the firmware is version 3.71. Is there any way I can play downloaded games of my Memory Stick? What would I have to do?

u need someone with pandora battery and memory card that does the phat and slim

Not to hijack or anything, but I have the same question. Got a new PSP Slim for Christmas and a friend was telling me that it is possible to backup your games and play them from a memory stick. And even to download games in ISO format (not sure if I would ever do this, but I'm curious). I've been reading around the forums, and am not sure if I got everything right or not.

1. I have firmware 3.71 installed.

2. In order to play games from memory stick what do I need to do?

Create the "Pandora's Battery"?
Install new custom firmware (i.e. 3.71 M33-2)
load some program to run the ISo's?

As you can see...I am totally confused. If anyone can take some time to help a total n00b out, it would be greatly appreciated.

With a ton of people getting PSP's for Christmas...there will probably be a ton of these type questions, so you may help others also!

Yeah, I think I have it all figured out finally.

I figured since I dont think I have the skills to re-solder the battery back to 'normal' I will just buy a new battery to have as a permanant 'pandora'.

So, I bought one, but just before opening it, I found a few posts that say new Sony batteries that are made in Japan are "Pandora-proof". Is this true? Should I return it and find a better battery to use?
