I made an Xvid Divx using a guide from this page. The movie is Finding Nemo. The problem is that the Ac3 file that I gotfrom Dvd2avi says "0ms", meaning there is no delay. BUT when I put the audio and video altogether, it's completely out of sync. What do I do?,pleaseee help me. I don't know how to calculate the delay, I'm very frustated. Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you.

I'm having the exact same problem with several DivX movies I've created. The worst part is that the audio actually seems to be stretched. Meaning that even when I get the beginning to sync, via trial and error, the end is still out of sync. :(

Anyone have any way of fixing this? I'm using Dr. DivX 1.0.4 to create a "video only" file. I'm then using either AVI-Mux or VirtualDub Mod for muxing the files.(both produce the same results :()

You can use DivFix or AVIFix. That should fix the problem. Just click on Fix Dub and it will synchronize the audio and video.

Hope it helps.

i'm just curious if anyone who's had that problem come up was also able to fix it perfectly with avifix or divfix?

Hi I have come across this a few times, the way I do it is a bit long winded but it does work. Can be used to re-sync audio after converting from 44.1 to 48 khz or after changing from 23.976fps NTSC to 25fps PAL also same for changing from SVCD/VCD with 5.1 sound to DVD format stereo sound.
Extract the audio/video using tmpegenc to m2v and pcm wav. Changing resolution if needed. Once youve done this. Load the movie file into tmpeg dvd author, click edit and find out the exact time of the last frame. Will be something like 1-22-34-19 thats 1hr 22 mins 34 sec point 19 of a sec (then close till youve finished editing the sound). Now open the .wav file in Cool edit or simular progy. Go to time shift and either stretch or shrink the file so it is the same length to the point of a second as the movie is (you will have to convert the hrs mins to seconds). Once you have done that, save and exit. Open tmpeg dvd author and input the file again, once you have set the chapters etc... you can change from the sound from pcm wav to AC3 D/D stereo(if you have the latest version and ac3 plugin) the resulting files will be in sync and ready to burn. Run it from hard drive in Power dvd to ensure the snyc is right before burning.
Hope this helps (and makes sense).
I can't get to grips with most proggies others use to do this, so this is the easiest for me.
