I run a website dedicated to teaching people how to create the highest quality MP3s possible, using the best ripper (EAC) and the best MP3 encoder (LAME).
Over time the site has turned into a community, full of people who enjoy high quality MP3s and maintain quite large, well organized collections.
Recently we decided we needed a way to share & search among ourselves, so after a bit of research we decided on the 'Direct Connect' P2P technology which allows us to moderate who uses the network.
In an effort to maintain quality, there are a few guidelines.
We ONLY share:
- Personal rips, which were created using the EAC ripper (secure mode), along with the LAME MP3 encoder (alt preset standard)
- Complete albums
So to anyone out there who would like to join in on our high quality MP3 sharing network, give us a shout.
For a really easy step-by-step guide to setting up EAC & LAME together check out the guide posted at this site:
I also have my own tutorial at my site, which could be handy if you run into problems (offers a bit of troubleshooting) and helps you configure a few more of the options.
If you have any questions at all about joining this high quality network, give me a shout using one of the methods below (go ahead and add me right now):
We just got the ball rolling on this, and have already got about 70 members sharing over 300 gigs of high quality MP3s (all full albums)
