im thinking about getting swap magic for my slim PS2, but do you absolutely NEED the flip top or the slim tool?

The slim is the flip top.

If you care for the stupid warranty I would just use the sticky tack trick. Put sticky tack in where the pin goes to tell the unit the lid is shut. If you dont care for the warrabty the clear cases and stuff from clearxbox.com come with the ghost switch and that pretty much does the trick.

I have the clear case and I love it but that unit crashed on me so now I got a new one and I think I wanna try to salvage the warranty on this the best I can so I used the good old sticky tack trick this time.
