i got this xbox for christmas and id like to put a bigger hdd in it theres only enough room for mabe a game on it and thats it

Easiest way would be to open it and see if there's a chip!

ya its only soft modded. now im tryin to replace old hd with new and very difficult. i followed all directions that came with the xboxhdm k this i what i have done so far i used the xboxhdm.zip conncted to xbox to pc copyed c and e folders th c and e folders in xboxhdm, then i clicked on make iso lin and waited, then clicked on the make iso win then used nero to make the boot disk from the iso it made for me, i connected the new clean hd to pc and clicked on the option Build a working HD from scratch and typed yes for all when it finnished i put it in to the xbox it has no soft mods on it from old drive. it boots to the origial dash, when i click on settings then network sttings it will then freeze. When i put a game in it it will load till the bar is almost at the and then freeze. any sugestions

also this is somethihng else i went in hdd maker for xbox tryed to access the xbrowser on the hard drive that i removed to replace with new i unlocked it first typed unlockhd -a i looked through the xbrowser then i restarted pushed #4 for the dos and locking ulocking tools, went in to atapwd, did something there, then i rebooted locked the hd now wont boot up yes im a dumba.. but now all i get is a fashing green red light on the xbox with a problem screen i may have dissabled something any help, all i want to do is put a bigger hard drive in with everything from this small one all the emulators ect

Your best bet would be to get a good understanding of what you are doing rather then wandering around aimlessly!
