Preferable Wii read speed?

In the wiikey config what is the recommended configuration of the read speed? x3 or x6?

never changed mine from 6x so dont see any reason for anyone else to either

I read a few instances (in some much older threads) where some people have changed from 3x to 6x read speed and their Wii stopped reading discs, I think originals including. And since no discs could be read, they couldn't change back to 3x read speed using the wiikey config.

I'm not sure how accurate the information above is as I've never personally tried it but I agree with Thinone, if you don't have a reason to change your read speed, then leave it be.

There were speculations that the higher speed was causing vibrations that were somehow disconnecting the mod chips ...
