so i recently got the halo 3 version of the xbox 360 and i got xbox live. i have been playing it and at first it was fine, but now every game i play everything glitches i.e. people appear behind me after being in front of me, i melee someone in the back twice and they don't die, and sometimes i just randomly die when no one is around and it doesnt even say " you were killed by...". also the matchmaking lobby takes forever now. it usually takes 15 minutes to get to a game. i was just wondering if there was any way to fix it. thanks

Yeah sounds more like a network issue, make sure your connection is good and stable.

i am hooked up directly to the router and the xbox live test says confirmed on everything. i tryed changing the ethernet cable and the matchmaking still takes a really long time. do you know if there is any way to make matchmaking faster?

Is it possible you can connect it directly to the Modem ? Just to see if it still does the same. If anything, you can also try Reseting the Router.

i tried reseting the router and nothing changed. but connecting to my modem means i have to unplug it from the router and that will make the internet on my computer not work

It's something on your end if it is a persistent problem. If it was a one day issue I'd say it could have been due to server issues (for instance tonight trying to get into COD4 was a royal pain).
Try hooking the 360 up directly to the modem. Yes we are aware you wont have internet on your computer during this, but honestly what could you possibly be doing on the computer while playing Halo? If this resolves the issue you might want to check your router settings and make sure that your settings aren't blocking Xbox Live. My D-Link router would allow me to get onto Xbox Live but it was incredibly laggy until I opened up some ports.
If you tell us what type of modem and router you're using it may help some of the more tech efficient people help you out. Sorry I can't be of more help but all I've learned is from first hand experience and I haven't quite had your problems so I'm of little help.

you need to use your computer to see what speed tour connection is, you need a good size bandwith for online gameing.
on the pc go to something like internetfrog. com or performance.toast .net and tell us what you download and upload when the problem happens again.

how do you know you need to open ports on the router?
when you run a connection test on the 360 what does it say about the nats?
did you run a speed test on your pc?
to me it sounds like a slow connection.
run a speed test and tell us what your connection is.
