That is in fact one of the stupidest things I've heard of yet!

Not I only do I doubt that you'll EVER get hold of the OS, but to make it work on an old 733MHz P3... it'll barely run Win '98!

The only one to top that was the guy who refused to believe that he couldn't play 360 games on his original Xbox!

You say that what I said was the stupidest thing you ever heard, when the funny thing is the XBox runs on linux, not windows. Like I said please DO NOT try and discourage me from doing it because I AM going to do it wether you like it or not. The ironic thing is that I said "This may seem like a stupid question" because I thought this place had smarter people on it, not just lame ass noobs who want to look good.

Ok an F.Y.I, an old XBox CAN run Windows 98, you just got to recode the installer to be compatible with XBox linux. Now please do not answear to threads that you do not know anything about. And do not thing you are some big computer genius because from the looks of things you can barely read...

I'm no expert but I am pretty sure chunkhead is right.

Vulture17, I think you might want to try the MC 360 SKIN...

Ahh, another noob with an attitude!

I'm just trying to help you out here buddy, maybe save you wasting away part of your life?

1) You will NOT get hold of the OS

2) The Xbox is not powerful enough

3) I already explained that the Xbox will run Win '98, the fact that it's Linux based is irrelevant!

4) I'm not some kid who is tinkering away with my Xbox, be careful who you run your mouth off to!

Save yourself some piece of mind, listen to what we are telling you and forget about this silly project! If you want a 360, go buy a 360!

;)

I am supposed to believe that, why? If you are no 'kid' then actually listen to what I was asking. Do you know where to get the 360 OS? Obviously not. Then stfu and stop calling people noobs just because they only recently signed up here. And btw, there is somewhere you can get it because I remember going on that site about 6 months ago. And as for the Xbox not being powerful enough, well people just like you said my dads computer wasn't powerful enough to run XP but it does. It has pretty much the same specs as an Xbox too. Just do youself a favour and stop posting things on here that you know nothing about. I am not saying that you can't mod your Xbox, I am just saying that you are what me and the people I work with call 'minor modders'. You just know what you know and you believe nothing else can be done.

if your going to insult people about not knowing how to read maybe you should make sure you spell things properly too.

its not 'wether' it is in fact 'whether'

Well, Honestly
I do not know if it can be done. I do not know much about it. but I dont believe you should flame people for asking simple questions. If you think its the stupidest thing you heard of why post on it?

Your Dad's? What are you, like 15? Grow up dude...

If you want a 360, go buy a 360!

The PC equivalent of the original Xbox will happily run XP!

XP requires a 233MHz processor (Xbox is 733MHz) and 64MB of RAM (which the Xbox has)!

I'm tired of this thread...

Ok, no im not only 15 im 26. I built my dads computer for him when I was like 15 but thats about it. I update it every now and then. I don't want a 360, I have 4 of them. I just thought it would be kind of funny having an XBox that ran the 360 operating system. And if you are tired of the thread, STOP POSTING YOU NOOB!! It's rather simple actually, you dont like doing something, DONT DO IT!! How retarded can one guy get?

I am glad to see another fellow member stand up to Chunkhead.

As for your question. Yes u could probably find it but more likely with a P2P program such as limewire or kazza. Try there is all else fails.

As for the OS on the xbox yes it is possible to run XP on lower then 256mb of RAM (which is the minimum reqirements just for chunkhead)But there is the possibility that it could freeze the xbox up. and if all else fails make a nade or daisy chain so u can form a cluster and you will sure fire make it happen. I doubt you can play 360 games on it but hey it is worth the shot. If you suceed in these efforts let me know how exactly you did it and version of xbox you used as i would try myself.

Stand up to me??? What am I, the mafia? Don't want my help, noted Dante1337!

Lime wire and Kazaa huh? Bit out of the loop aren't ya? Both have been sued and now MUST report ALL IP Addresses to authorities...

The minimum requirements for Windows XP is 64MB of RAM! The "Recommended" amount is 128! I do this for a living, don't try to be a smartarse, try some research!!!

Firstly, I feel very sorry for someone who hires you todo something to do with consoles OR computers. You obviously are not at home with them at all.

Secondly, if you actually setup XP on a disk and read the terms of service/conditions what ever they call it, it says "Recomended a minimum of 256MB RAM, but will run just as effectively on less"

Thirdly, I am a server techinition. I could probably do pretty much anything I want with a computer.

And finally, you may think you are the mafia but you are nothing more than some broke ass kid who needs to get a job. I would offer you work as a remote datacenter admin, but you would probably think you are amazing and typing words in boxes and try some remote network restricion administration. Now I really can't be bothered with this anymore, I thought that it would be a nice idea to try and find out where to get the operating system but obviously everyone on here is too blind to see what I actually asked and try and teach me from their mistakes. In the words of an extremely wise friend of mine, Others only say it is impossible if they have tried and failed.

A server 'techinician'??? You can't even spell, or read for that matter, which bit of "Recommended" don't you get!?

I'm also hardly some broke ass kid, I'm a Cisco Network Engineer. You server blokes will know all about that though...

Mhmm, yup Cisco Network Engineer.. yea how many times have I heard that one? Oh my when I think how many times noobs have said that kind of shit, yea it's surprising... Funny how you right away say the name of a big company, and the weird thing is they all say Cisco... It's kind of annoying really... Look kid, get a life.

Not going to let it go are ya? I could have said Microsoft, but that would be just lying!

Believe, me, don't believe me, makes no difference to me!

All I know is that you have no chance of ever getting help with your Xbox from me or any other loyal member of Afterdawn!

Everybody's a Cisco Engineer...nice!

Yup like I said kid instead of starting arguements with people like me who could knock you offline in a split second if they actually thought you were worth it, go eat a McDonalds an get fat, or if you are already fat do us all a favour an cut your wrists or hang yourself or something. Have a nice life :)
