Memorex player does nothing!!!

We got a Memorex MVD 2023 as an extra player for a Christmas gift.
We get the movie to play, but there is no audio. We have been playing with this thing for 4 days already. Their support sucks to high heaven....tried calling their support phone number (long distance of course, cheap-asses).

All I get is recording after recording, then finally they say they will connect me to a tech, then the same recordings come back on again naming all their products. This keeps repeating over and over again. We are ready to throw the thing out the window.

We followed all the connection instructions and even went to WallyMart and bought an S-video cable which didn't work either. Still no audio.

Oh yeah, and we tried connecting it to another TV set and we got nothing!! None of the remote buttons does anything. Tried to set it up to work from the TV remote, but it wouldn't do anything either.

Sorry this is so long, but maybe if someone had the same problem, there could be a solution.

You can't even e-mail Memorex!!!
