I got a Wiikey installed.
I asked the guy was it a genuine one.
He said no: but that the one he was using had no problems and could be updated.
(He's local to me so I can always go back to him if I have any problems.)

I have the standard problem playing SMG.
I haven't yet updated the Wiikey firmware.

I read in another website that the firmware updates have al so far been OK for clones.
The only complaint is that the build quality is not as good.

I just wanted to know: what kind of problems do the clone chips have?

Thanks.

Well there won't be any problems at all except the thought in your head knowing that you do not have a genuine Wiikey installed. :)

thanks for the reply.
i think it's a bit odd why fitters would want to use clones.
the price of the genuine one is not exactly a huge sum.
if u r going to charge for installation anyway...
then i would imagine anyone would be happy to pay a small amount extra just to have the genuine??
at least i would have.

it is how much they can get the clones for, i have seen clones that are sold 50 for $60 where as the genuine are $25 each.

people sold ask and check if its real or not before letting mod. just for a peace of mind.

i haven't heard clone having problems but never know in the long run. and i have seen genuine goes bad too, if that makes you feel any better.

ok... i think that makes a lot of sense. :)
the price of a genuine is too high compared to a clone.
