ftb2 update download not working

I get to the update download I press X to download the update it downloads but my duo stick flash indicator isnt flashing at all. Or it will say unable to install update. I left it over night to download I wake up and its still at the same download page screen. How do I fix this? I really want to play bad. And is the download long or short?
