how do i use ps2 dualshock on a ps3?

hi everyone. i was wondering if anyone knows of a adapter that allows play of ps2 games on ps3. i was playing manhunt 2 and it came to a part in the game where it said to connect dualshock 2 controller. ive seen adapters on ebay, but they say they are not compatible with ps2 games. any ideas?

You can't use a PS2 DualShock controller on PS3, there are no adapters, however, a DualShock 3 (SIXAXIS with Rumble) is coming out in Early 2008.


However, if you can't wait, you can go to http://www.play-asia.com/ or http://www.japanvideogames.com/ to get the Japanese DualShock 3 now.

This is not true,there are a few adapters for using the PS2 DualShock 2 to the PS3.

Yea, but the DualShock 2 dosen't have motion sensing, and some games require motion-sensing.

thanx guys. yes i want to be able to play ps2 games on my ps3. only problem is some ps2 games require a dualshock controller. can anyone confirm that these adapters support ps2 software?

I bought a DualShock 3 off the Japanese site.. I love it. Not just for the rumble, but I like the weight. its very solid, it doesnt feel like its bout to break in half like the original sixaxis..

Your local game store should carry these adapters. I agree about the new dualshock 3. I missed the rumble. Being able to feel gun recoil is a plus in my book.
