At college i have captured footage of a mini DV tape and have brought it home to finish, however i cant import it into Adobe premiere because i dont have the required codec... can some one help me get this codec, also are there any other codecs that i might need on my editing adventure?

Cheers, hope u can help

UMM...You failed to mention the Biggest Piece of information that would allow us to help you..What is the codec Called??
Well I guess you would have mentioned it if you know..If this Footage is on your Camcorder then it is in DV format in which case You Probably just need a DV codec installed...Here are some really slow Links to some Software DV Codecs:
Sony DV codec...
http://dshow.narod.ru/video/Sony_Software_DV_Codec_v.2.23.exe
Panasonic DV codec...
http://dshow.narod.ru/video/Panasonic_Software_DV_Codec_v.2.64.exe
MainConcept DV codec....
http://dshow.narod.ru/video/MainConcept_DV_2.102_codec.exe
Canopus DV codec.....
http://dshow.narod.ru/video/Canopus_DV_software_v2.8_codec.exe

Any One of these Should work if your Files are in DV Format....Cheers
