You don't need windows media player.Go to the folder where your songs are located.Right click and go to send to and send it to removable disk if it's there. If not then copy and paste the song into the directory of your mp3 players folder.

Google Media Monkey, the superior audio management system. It makes everything else look like crap!

One of the many things it does right is sync. It is a must for flash players because it will allow you to swap out music without much effort. Most managers that come with a player don't let you remove stuff from the player unless you jump through many hoops. They want you to get so frustrated, you buy a bigger player.

Ok.This happened to me sometimes.Try creating a folder in your players directory and put all the songs in there and then send the songs from the computer to there.
If that doesn't work then try format your player.Instructions can be found here.

Yes, the players are good. I can't say they are worth the price unless you don't mind spending an extra $100 for the best that may only be a bit better than some of the competition. I would spend the extra for me but not for my kids.

I don't recommend them as they are allright but they are pretty difficult to use and sometimes useless.Ipod videos are big hunks of junks that freeze a lot cos my cusins got one and It does that a lot.
If u want to get one,get and ipod nano that plays videos. At least u can put movies on it and it's compatible too.

I never expected to be defending Apple but my daughter has the mp4 for almost 2 years and I have never seen a skip problem and I have never heard a compliant about skipping. Videos do suck the battery life down but other than that hers runs flawlessly.

The trick is you may need to be a video expert then use a good converter. Freezing probably occurs when the raw video is not perfect. Each frame should have pointers to and from the frame. good players do not need all the pointers but marginal ones do. They are putting out junk DVDs these days which do not have all the pointers readable will not be clean enough to process. I have several DVDs that skipped out of the box even on our best player. The backups work without skips on our worst player. Because we have some poor players in the house I got into the habit of making perfect videos.

Converting the junk without cleaning it up creates junk. Have your cousins go through the Shrink forum. Learn how to make an optimum video. That will always include FixVTS. You can convert the video files after the FixVTS step. Lots of the one step converters just don't have the technology to make a video from a less than perfect disk.

Does your daughter have a good manufacturer?Because if not then you are lucky you have good player...because many people(including me) have bought a chipod(chinese remake of an ipod) and they ahve stuffed up a lot.Seriously...even if I do nothing wrong, something happens.

I am sure it is the quality of the video not the hardware. Do your cousins use FixVTS in their video process? If they do then I will consider myself lucky but I am sure they do not. The ONLY thing that software does is takes out the skips. It is free they ought to try it.

I suspect the chipod converter is either better or the video format of the chipod could very well be more forgiving.

I bought mine mail order and it was shipped from china. I liked it and thought it was a good value till it died during the second sync. This is common with them. However, there is a fix. Apparently, the memory was hacked to make it look bigger than it was. It needs to be formatted to the correct size. The fix was posted in this forum about the time this one was posted.

They are no name players, many built on the cheap side. However, the features may be superior to the leading US brands also made in China. They seem to be more creative. I bought mine on ebay and the seller got kicked off for not supporting the products. 2 months later I find what I hope is the fix. Fortunatly, the problem is fairly common. They get confused and don't do anything. I am glad I did not throw it out.
