I using dvdxcopy 2.5.2 and I've already ruined some dvd-r's... The program reads the dvd fine. It starts burning with no problems and ends fine. However, when I watch the copy, not all the data is present. If I flip the dvd over, I can see how only half the disk has been writtin to. Any ideas?

Yes. Toss it, then download DVD Shrink. It's free and does a much better job at ripping and compressing than dvdxcopy.

There are tons of posts on this and other sites from peeps complaining about that software. For example I've heard that when backing up an encrypted DVD, it puts warnings periodically throughout the backup. Also....alot of folks have problems copying backups made by dvdxcopy due to some protection it puts on em. Why anyone would buy it and expect it to work brilliantly is beyond me.

Then again...there are tons of posts complaining about Nero also.....but it's always worked perfectly for me for years. Go figure =)
