It was a breeze. I didn't have to enable anydvd. Ddvd Shrink ripped right through it and it was a very good flick. Watching the ending, looks like they'll be an RE-4

I just used DVDFab on Resident Evil Extinction and next step is FixVTS however there is no Video TS files, all the files are VTS ## files (VTS01 etc). Can I still run FixVTS somehow, did something go wrong with the ripping process?

Icemanjmw, if you backup RE Extinction with Ripit4me 1.7.1.0, fixvts is already built in and goes all the way to dvd shrink. All u have to do is manipulate shrink the way u want and away u go.
Ripit4me can still be found in a google search at softpedia.com

iceman,
That is what the guide says, the next step it would be FixVts after ripping with DVDFab.
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/494836
However, that step is not mandatory. It seems that this title did not have heavy encryption( if even DVD Shrink could do it by itself).
Video_Ts is not a file, is the entire folder where DVDFab Decrypter puts all those VOB files.

You Guys/Gals think some studios are giving up on harder encryption since they have to pay programmers (One can only assume TOP DOLLAR$) only to have it crack by freelance programers who get the satisfaction of sticking it to the man???

HAHA, that would be the smart thing to do! Maybe some of these freelance progrmers release the decrypting freebies because they don't need the money! Maybe the sudios pay them enough to write the encryption in the first place; this way they can do the decryption for free:)! Would't that be something...

It would certainly cut down on trying to write the "break" for the new encryptions, wouldn't it.
Lol.

am I the only one with problems?
Ripit4me crashes when reading the dvd, anydvd can't copy it to the harddrive, dvdshrink can't read it, dvddecrypter can't read it, clone2dvd can't read it ...

forget about ripit4me , make sure anydvd and clonedvd 2 or dvdfab decrypter are updated and it should work. if it doesn't you have a bad pressing or your drive is unable to read it in which case you will need another brand of drive to transcode it

I had problems using DVD Fab... something bogged down my PC to the point that I thought this Sony disk installed a rootkit or some other nefarious anti-ripping tool. It got so bad my cursor would not move. But it may have been some indexing software that I was running... or the combo... though CPU usage and memory were no where near being maxed out. So I rebooted, something that took forever. After a rootkit check I tried RipIt4Me and then Shrink and it worked fine.
