i really need help on which swap magic i should buy for my ps2 slim version model number scph-75001, i dont know which to get so can someone tell me cuz i m no good at this stuff.( nothing that includes to solder please)
I have a slim ps2 and i use Swap Magic 3.6. It comes with 2 disc's, one for CD backups and one for DVD backups. You will also need a Magic Key or some way to keep the lid of the ps2 open so you can swap out the Swap Magic disc with the backed up disc.
I can play backed up DVD games with no problem. I tried to play a backed up DVD double layer disc but I couldn't get it to work. I dont know if it's not compatible or if I burned it wrong or what but when I put it in the drive, it said "Invalad PS2 Disc".
Hey Cyper, I too have a V14 (75001) ps2.
I have swap magic 3.6 & ps2 fliptop mod for slim, and it works 100% perfect with my dvd-r and cd-r. As for other media, I am not sure. I believe it takes dvd+r to a point as well.
Swap magic 3.6 is arguably the better swap-discs to use, due to them being available more then the coder version (3.8), and a little bit less buggy.. And cheaper. ;P
Make sure you buy a fliptop, or another mod method before buying swap magic, as you cannot just use swap magic, you will need something to block your sensors (If you want to save a few bucks, try the 'tape and tissue' method (google it, or search the forum for it.)
