I have a DMS4 with HD. Lost power while unit was on and now the games tab in missing in the Toxic OS window. Other tabs are there. Tied to use HD loader salvage utilities but not sure how to connect to the ps2 via PC. I guess I could just format that HD and redo the Toxic OS install. But I'd perfer not to spend the time if I don't have to. Any guides or help for recovery? Thanks for any help...

I'm not an expert on the hdloader nor DMS4, but I'm throwing in my two cent's because one of my computers hard-drives did the same thing to me once, and I could never retrieve the data unless I wanted to pay some guy 50$ to come and do it for me, so I said screw that.. ;P

You can connect a hd via USB cable I believe (a usb connecting from the hd enclosure to your PC usb port), or you can use a pen/flash drive.

Worst come to worst you may have to spend that time..

Best way to prevent this from happening again is to use a surge protector, relatively cheap and throws a couple more outlets into use.

Here's my update...
I took the HD out placed in PC and used Winhiip to repair the drive. I could see all the games on that interface. Once repaired, I placed back in the PS2 and now it freezes on the Toxic OS screen and will not launch into the menu. I'm currenlty dumping all my games onto another PC HD. Prior to formatting the HD and reinstalling the games (hope that works?) is there anyway to reinstall or repair Toxic OS from a PC without reformating the HD? Thanks for any help....
