Nailed for $220,000...i think that's an understatement.
Not only did she NOT move her files out of her sharing folder but SHE FRAKKIN' USED KAZAA. I mean, who the HELL uses Kazaa anymore??? Riddled with viruses, slow transfers and just flat out terrible. I stopped using Kazaa about 5 years ago and anyone with half a brain would /should do the same.
Anyway................she lied regarding her hard drive. Second to last paragraph in the article.
"Record companies said Thomas was sent an instant message in February 2005, warning her that she was violating copyright law. Her hard drive was replaced the following month, not in 2004, as she said in the deposition."
STUPID STUPID STUPID She deserves a good 10K smack in the Kazaa!!!
My favorite part is this "The hard drive in question was not presented at trial by either party"
Where is the physical evidence?
What they convicted her with logs on paper?
Her lawyers suck
Anyone can spoof logs
