Double sided tape for umd door.

Has anyone ever tried putting double sided tape on a broken umd door cover? I dont feel like buying a replacement.

If you get the kind that has the little foam strip sandwiched between the adhesives, you are good..I think 3M makes a tape like that-It doesnt have to be too thick, but just enough to fill the gap between the plastic UMD door and the metal tray for the UMD drive. If you just use the thin scotch tape-like double sided, it wont hold because of the gap. Plus it provides a little cushion.

yeah.. thats what i was thinking about some foam double sided tape. Im gonna try it.

The foam tape made the cover stick out alot. I used something called glue dots and it works good. You wouldnt be able to tell unless you knew the cover broke off.
