I haven't played SOCOM FTB1 in a while because I got FTB2 and me and my friends have been playing it. So the other day I was wanting to play it so I popped it my PSP and started up the game. I got to the part online when you first get online where it says checking for required updates and the little yellow bar at the bottom never moved and it said, "Network Error Has Occured Returning To Main Menu"
I thought I was banned because I had been hacking like crazy before I stopped playing. So I went over my friends house that afternoon to see if I could log in at his house and what do you know, it logged in perfectly.
So I don't know if I'm banned or what's going on. I can log onto FTB2 perfectly also so I'm pretty sure it's not my router.
Anyone with answers or suggestions to my problem are greatfully thanked in advance.=]

Doesn't make alot of sense, if you were banned it would have you banned at your friends house too (unless they use IP banning?) That could be a possibility if you have a static IP..

I agree with that. If you had been hacking like crazy then I imagine you probly ran into one of the Admins while playing. They may have banned you (again, like bradhunt said, if they ban your IP adress). I imagine they probably do ban your IP adress though. BTW How long ago do you think you got banned? I remember a admin telling me most bans last for 16 days or something.
Well if they ban your psp then I'm not sure how to gewt unbanned from that.. maybe the track your mac adress. Anyways, that's not imporant to you since you think it's because of your network.. well you can always get a new router :D

Well if bans usually last for about 16 days then surely I'm not banned because it's been about a month or two since I've been online on FTB1.
Oh well. Thanks anyways guys. I'll try to find a way around it I guess. =]

Ok... The games themselves will have the option to play Online in their own menu. You don't need a program to play games online.

@Marlin - I think he was talking about games that don't naturally support infrastructure mode.
@Pred3 - As Marlin implied, this game has the option to go online "built in".
PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB

Well I tried that.
But thanks anyways. =]
I don't know what it could be. I have the right firmare, I know. I'm sitting right next to my router. I shouldn't banned because it just says network error has occured.
Might just be my game.
I'll download an ISO of it and if it works then it's just my game.
Wish me luck..

Moved to a more appropriate forum.
@tmbm
Once again let's be more helpful w/ our posts. Ce_Yu_Pe already said they tried getting closer to the router and that wasn't it.

They couldn't have banned my username though because when I go to my friends house, it lets me play with no problems.
They don't ban your ip (or at least I didn't think so) but that's what it's looking like because I can log on everywhere except my house.
