Announced today, Cyberlink Corp, makers of the well known Power DVD software suite have officially been certified by the Blu-ray Disc Association to support playback of BD-Video profile 1.1 specification. In my book this would be worth the cost. The great thing about cyberlink is the user friendly format the software is made. I have used Nero and Cyberlink and i find that even both have an easy to use user interface but nero can be a bit too technical at times for new users.

I recommend cyberlink products for newbies in this kinda market to learn how to use these products at first and then expand too other software packages.
