I recently did the POT adjustment, and before I screwed the case back on, I tried a game, just so if it didn't work I wouldn't have to unscrew it again. It booted up fine, within normal times, which was much better than before the tweak. I put the case back on, but when I tried booting games (all legit, btw) they wouldn't go. I took the case off, wondering if i had managed to put it on incorrectly, and tried it the same way I did right after the tweak, but it was no good. I lost one of the screws for the metal plate under the laser assembly, but I don't think that's the problem or it wouldn't have worked that first time.

Here's a breakdown:

Pot adjusted to ~250 Ohms
All legit games (no modchip installed either)
No game loads at all.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I would raise your pot back up a little. Maybe to around 325 to 350.

Before I had tweaked my cube's POT, it had originally been at like 650 ohms. Never got any disc read errors before the tweak, it's just that I installed a chip, so I lowered it to 204 ohms to get it to read backups.

My cube can read back-ups at 275 ohms just fine. I have a weird cube...

Well, I tried adjusting it but to no avail. I think my Gamecube has died. Does anyone know how I should dispose of it and where the best place to get a new one is?

I'd be happy to take it off your hands. Just PM me about it.

Well, I've managed to get a replacement cube, but there is an issue. The button used to open the disc tray cover sticks in the down position and is difficult to get back up. Can I fix this?
