DVD+R copies don't play where video dubs do

I've made lots of DVD+R video dubs with Phillips DVDR985 that play fine on most DVD players including the Panasonic DVD RV22. I just got Buslink DVRW 412 RD recorder and have tried both Nero 6 and Sonic MyDVD duplicating software. The copies play fine on the computer & on the Phillips, but not on the Panasonic that I use to check to see they are OK for most players. I can't find either a hardware or software adjustment.
