I run a copy of intervideo DVR and watch cable while computing. I often time record shows while I'm away. What software do I need to be able to transfer the recorded shows to DVD discs?

It really depends on what format you record the shows in: they could already be in a DVD compatible format (VCD format files are also DVD compatable). If this were the case, you would just need to author the files with a program like TMPGEnc DVD Author and burn the title-set to DVD-R.

If they are not already DVD compatable (if they are in AVI or non-standard MPEG format), you can convert them to DVD format using TMPGEnc Plus. DRd has posted a guide for AVI to DVD at the top of this forum, or you can check out:

Good luck...

I'm not sure I've made myself clear. The Intervideo DVR program also records and it's these programs recorded sessions I would like to transfer to DVD. Fights, Movies etc.
The recording format is Mpeg. I am not that well versed in the different formats, so what would I have to do to make it DVD compatible?

I understand how you are recordign them, but since you gave no information about files format, it was hard to give specific advice.
First you have to check whether or not your MPEG streams are DVD compatable or not. Here is a link that lists out all of the possible MPEG permutations that will be acceptable:

http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvd

If your files match these specs, you just have to author them using TMPGEnc DVD Author, and burn the title-set to disc. Here is a guide to this process:

http//www.chrismccann.co.uk/user_guides.htm

If they are not compatible, however, you have to use TMPGEnc to convert them to the proper format. www.dvdrhelp.com also has numerous guides on how to use TMPGEnc.

Good luck
