How Much for a Hardrive??

Sons 360 has the red rings,,, etcetc, so a mate was wondering how much id sell the hard drive for, and all the games we have,,, so how much as a reasonable price for an 8month old harddrive,,,, games id do separate

if its a 20 gb
i would say 50-60
for a 120gb

its flashed,,, towel trick will do what?? mend it short time, i know some say send it back and i did call microsoft, emailed me a sticker for posting, but i let it lapse, ive lost faith in the whole machine, after reading all these threads on them breaking, might jus twash me hands off it and get a WII

Don't give up on it man, i'd call MS again and get a new sticker sent out. You just got a bad one. People send flashed warranty 360s in and get a new one back or refurb. Wiis are cool, but at least get your 360 fixed under warranty so you can sell it as a working one. I'd say keep it, 360's graphics blow away the Wii's.

Seeing as how I own both a 360 and a wii (along with about 9 other consoles from various generations) I'd suggest waiting on the Wii. I picked mine up because I THOUGHT Super Smash Brothers was coming out in December, literally a week after I bought it it gets delayed until february.
I've only bought three games for it, arguably the only three games worth buying. Resident Evil 4 (GC port), Zelda and Prime. I'm not knocking the system, it's fun however the games are lacking. The majority of the titles out right now are mini game compilations, value software (stuff I could make with friggin' flash), or a rehashed Nintendo franchise. I'm sure once Brawl comes out I'll finally put some real hours into the console however other than that one game I see nothing coming out that I'll be buying (Nights is tempting but I don't wanna kill the nostalgia of the Saturn).
Seriously check out the games for the Wii, check out the titles coming out in the next six months. The 360 may have its issues but it's got the best game library.

Right man, plus i'm about the graphics and 360 blows away the Wii in that area. Wii is good if you got kids and stuff and want to do stuff as a family. Dude, get it fixed at least so you can sell it if you don't want it.

its now out of its warranty even tho i reported it IN warranty, i did send it off to another place cos they said they could fix it, but didnt, so im hoping cos i reported it broken while in waranty im still legible for a return, gonna play stupid on that one saying i thought hub had done it etc etc
ps. i love bein called dude, im a 43 yr old mum of 2 lads, its THEIR bloomin 360 and im doin all the runnin around for em!!

lol sorry, thought your name was 2lads as in father and son. Doubt whether MS will fix it for free, they seem pretty hard nosed and could care less about one person, but good luck. If that doesn't work, check with a local electronics person there, good luck.

hey no probs, dude!! father and sons??, dontcha think us moms get involved in all things electrical!!
anyway,,, i have said before i have loads of reservations about sendin it back,,,, i keep readin that the worse case scenario is that i get the original one back un fixed? i tried local repair shops, some used to do the RROD but are so inundated with them they dont anymore,,,,, will ring MS up and ask where me postage sticker is??

Right, we need more women on this board, kinda like all dudes on Xbox Live, lol, it's like what the heck. Give MS a shot, I always reach the Microsoft India or Phillipines Phone Support Team and although they are nice, they just are totally by the book and don't seem like the type who will make an exception to get yours fixed out of warranty for free. But I hope they will, use your magic charm and you never know, miracles can happen. Don't have reservations with MS if they accept it, I will share my experience. I sent my RROD 360 last Monday to them and they shipped out one last Thursday so that's pretty cool. Don't let the few people who have had bad experiences with MS scare you from sending yours. I'd search online for a 360 Repair place, know there are a few in the US. Or you could sell your 360 for parts on E-bay, power supplies get about $40, controllers $30 at least, broken RROD $50 at least, plus sell your harddrive for $40 at least if its 20 GB, otherwise more. Then sell your games and AV cords. You probably would make enough to buy the Wii, if you can find one.

cheers for that, im in UK, and spoke to a nice young man, from here i think,,,,,,,,, i really hope that cos i compained about it pre warranty expiry and am yet still wating for me shipping lable?? ill give it ago
