CFW doesnt have a DAX loader so it won't work. Just use CSO.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Heres a link: http://www.dark-alex.org/
then go to se/oe projects and scroll down untill you get DAX ZISO LOADER and get the latest version.

Can't you launch DAX using IRShell's built in Devhook plugin?

to be honest, the compression of DAX is rarely more than negligibly smaller than CSO but both are usually much smaller than ISO

it is not worth the fuss trying to use DAX loaders when cso is so very nearly as small

just my opinion but try it if you don't believe me though...

1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

Ya you are right because the only difference between them once was 5 megabytes. Might as well stick to CSO...

ok, I only wanted to know to which one was smaller so I can rip my games. Then I will only use CSO.

I have a question...I have GTA:LCS in dax format from my 1.50 PSP (which I updated yesterday to 3.71 M33-4).

After reading this thread I decided to avoid using loaders and so used UMD Gen to convert to cso.

However now I have no sound when playing the game, no sound effects or music of any sort - never had a problem when it was 1.5 using DaxZiso.

Is there a way to correct this or am I going to have to install a dax loader to get the sound?

For reference I used UMD GEN V4 Batch Image converter option, with compression level 9, dragged the dax image and selected cso as the output.

I can't see why it would've removed the sound considering the dax version was smaller with all sound included.

Also the game appears to lag at some points too...?

Thanks
