If i bought a playstation 3 in the U.S, will it work back in Australia?

Yes it would work on australia. There is only one problem which you will have is that some games could be region locked means that american ps3 is NTSC and australian ps3 is PAL and the games are devided between those two and the consoles are also. There could be some games in future which would be region locked and if they are you have to buy the game online. Hope this has helped

All ps3 games upto this point have been region free, so theres no reason to beleive that they'd change that anytime soon. Ps2 games are a diffrent story though.
