LCD monitor and VGA cable with xbox 360 help

Hello, i am trying to figure out how to get my xbox 360 to be able to play and hear sound on my 20" LCD screen. Here is the screen i have http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppi...5&cs=GoogleBase

this is the VGA cable i got

I can get picture on my computer with the cable i just dont know how to get sound. ty for the help in advance.

The red & white plugs need to be plugged into the sockets on the back of the monitor, one is the "left audio" and one is the "right audio" off the top of my head i cant remember which colour is which just google it

but basically plug the red into the red socket on your monitor and the white into the white and that should then output your sound

In order to get sound from your xbox you can do one of 2 things but both will require a couple of bits of kit which will transform the av leads into a headphone/line out jack

The phono coupler attaches onto the phone leads from your VGA cable and then the stereo lead to phono plug then attaches onto the other end of the coupler.

The phone plug can then either plug into the line in port on your monitor(if you have one) or into an external amplifier( I used computer speakers as they were controlled manually rather than through my PC.

I've only put the links on to show you what you will need as im sure they can be purchased elsewhere although i got mine from maplins and they worked a treat until i upgraded my TV!

did your vga cable come with a object where you plug both red and white connectors into it so that you can plug it straight into your monitor with just one connector... if you dont know what i mean look at this pic: http://www.planet-xbox.de/img/articles/3...360-small-1.jpg its the middle object.

it should just plug straight into your monitor if so.

@ Chris i do not have red and white av slots on my monitor.

and that will plug into my lcd monitor : ) or i may go out and buy new stereo system lolz/
