What about editing this post to be: How to get homebrew on FW 2.01
And ask about it instead of asking how to find posts on how to get homebrew on 2.01?

Download this. Unzip the file. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP. Go into USB Mode, connect it to your computer. Go to /PSP/GAME/. Create a folder a name it UPDATE. Now copy your UPDATE.PBP to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE. Exit USB Mode. In the PSP, go to GAME/MEMORY STICK/ and update it. Battery must be 75% or higher with the AC Adapter pluged in (as a precaution). Let it update you to 2.80. Now go here. Follow the instructions for the 2.80 Downgrader to the letter. Do everything as instructed and you will have a PSP running 1.50 Firmware. From there you can upgrade to custom Firmware, which you can play ISO/CSO, homebrew, etc. I won't tell you how to go from 1.50 -> 3.xx M33, search the forums for that, its everywhere.

i think that the problem that you are facing is that no one uses that firmware anymore. it's really not relivant for people to be posting about this because most people are on 3.52 m33 or 3.71 m33 (or something of that sort). I doubt that anything new has happened with firmware 2.01 in the last two years. unfortunatly, the info that you are finding is probably as up to date as you will ever find. know what i mean? Like crazy kid said though, you really should update to 3.71 m33.

I still play my wii, just not as much. Gave my PSP to my son.

(And btw, yes I care so much what my rank is, it is infact so important for me that I am giving my entire life to this site giving up all of my other intrests) I was just giving you some pointers on what to do to get the best answer as fast as possible.

Go HERE and follow this guide on how to search.

You can then limit how far back you want to search with the options of...

Last 7 Days
Last 30 Days
Last 60 Days
Last 90 Days
Last 120 Days

That was just for future reference.

I also would recomend the 2.71 downgrader. Just make sure you use the proper 2.71 downgrader according to what motherboard you have.

cheers. i have tried to use the 2.71 downgrader but when i copy the files to the root of my memory stick and go to PHOTO then press Triangle / slideshow, it says i should get either a red or blue screen depending on whether it worked or not. But when i do that it doea actually give me a slideshow of a folder called HEND and like a kind of fuzzy screen with colour through it called RAND, so i dont know where i have went wrong. does this ring a bell with anyone as i'm probably making a simple mistake ??

First, you don't have to press anything, the file will automatically start.

Just wait a few seconds, and the PSP should automatically restart.(i think)

Then, run the 1.50 update.
