Im having a few problems with my new 360, i have two one for me and one for a friend, and hes having troubl with some backups such a gears, orange box, simpsons whereas they all work fine for mine, he has ixtreme 1.1 8x i have ixtreme 1.4 12X, so i reflash his back to default firmware so he wont be getting any more unreadable disc errors? Please only post if you know what your talking about! :)

8x can cause some read problems, as its slowing the drive down, try flashing his drive with the 12x fw, that should speed the drive read rate up and should eliminate the problems. Its also important to use good quality media if you want to use the 8x fw, what media are you backing up the games to?
