I bought a psp for $25 it was cheap because it doesnt read umds. I replaced the laser assembly and it worked. Then it stopped working after the first two tries. When the umd or my finger presses the umd detection pin inside the door the psp says disc cannot be read right away with out trying to read the umd.When I power the psp on with a umd inside i can hear the umd spinning and then the psp gives me the disc cannot be read message again. When the disc is spinning and I open the umd door i can see that the laser is on. I opened the psp again and reconnected the umd assembly and the umd drive worked again but only twice I still have the same problem now. Wtf is going on?

I did buy one I have the same problem with the old one and the new one. I can it be the mobo?

my freidn has recently had teh same problem. his solution waws to take the mother board out, smash it against a wall and but a new one along with a new umd drive

or you could make it into a Custom Firmware psp and play games of your memory card, you might have to use pandora's battery depends on what firmware you are on. Which ever just make sure you buy a big memory card 4gb should be able to fit all your games but 8gbs even better.

Its a custome firmware psp now. ISO only.
