Online Gaming - Safe for modded Wii?

Hi first post guys I checked a bit and couldn't see anyone answering this specifically sorry if i missed it.

So I've got a modded wii had it for a while now playing loads of games etc but I want to play online. Question is, is it safe? I've heard about 360's being killed by microsoft or at least banned from online, and I just wanted to know what my chances are of bricking my Wii if I decide to go online to play some guitar hero or mario strikers charged.

Will the fact i'm using a modded wii be noticed by their servers or can I just jump straight on?

Any help appreciated Thanks guys :)

(Wiikey 1.9g with Wii 3.1E firmware)

Also will it make a difference if i'm using a dloaded backup or my original game?

its perfectly safe and there is no difference if your using a copy or original disc.
