I burned Dexter Discs 1, 2 and 3 without a problem, however when it came to Disc 4 all sorts of problems appeared. I used AnyDVD and DVD Shrink as well as DVD XCOPY Platinum. DVD Shrink indicated that the disc was too large to copy while DVD XCopy came up with an error. Is there a problem with this disc or is it just me? If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
Yeah, I was also surprised after burning the first 3 discs without a hitch. I did get the final episode burned, but without anything else from the DVD (so i hope you don't mind losing the additional content on your dvd backups).
In DVDShrink 3.2, instead of 'open disc', just go over to 're-author', pick chapter 3 (double click or drag to the left area), hit the backup button and you should be good to go. Should make 2gb, 3 VOB files, and then burn them however you would normally. This means when you put the disc in, it will immediately go right to playing the last episode. I'm sure you can play around with it and get the menus in there, but it wasn't worth my time, all I wanted was the episode.
did anyone else notice how crappy the quality was on these copies? this series was BY FAR the worst quality recording that i have done. A lot of the motion was blurred. did this happen to anyone else?
and kinda off topic, but damn, what a great show, i dont have showtime so i cant wait for season 2 to come out
Nope, my copies all read perfectly fine. From the first to last episode, everything is in pristine quality.
You are right, it is a good show... but I know some people who don't like it at all (but then again, to each their own).
Maybe you had bad media to begin with, I've heard of bad batches of discs being distributed, but personally have never heard anything about this particular series.
