I have one of the newer slim PS2 models, the 79001 series which apparently is the newest. Unforunately it means information on using it with Magic Keys 2 is relatively limited. Currently I have Magic Keys 2 3.8, the 3 little metal parts.

I know that alot of people have had similar table with Part 1, this is a situation with the metal piece in the way and such. I am wondering if there are some good videos or set of detailed photos for installing Part 1 with this metal piece? The photos on the main website don't help me much because its not a 79001 series PS2.

Likewise the Part 1 piece doesn't seem to match up with the picture, its a bit more rectangular and it seems to be want to be seated in a different orientation (Horiz vs vertical). I am wondering if this is an issue or whatever I'm just worrying too much.

I have inserted the Part 1 piece just to made sure I could fit it, I am assuming its correct that it should be on the left side of that metal piece. Is there any way besides the game working that I can tell its hitting the micro switches?

Is it possible to remove that metal piece without damaging it (so it could possibly be replaced back in if need be) or the PS2?

I have browsed through a number of topics but unforunately they don't seem to address all of my questions, be forewarned that I am brand new to modding and don't exactly have the bank account to buy a couple of different PS2 and mod solutions to play around with.

I am assuming that you are referring to the longer metal key that goes by the hinge? If so the only real way to make sure it s hitting the switch is to put a disc in and when it starts to spin you know it's on it. On my silver & black 79001 the key is sort of half way between horizontal and vertical kind of in a position like this " \ "

one tip though, on mine that key didn't stick very well so best bet is to get a piece of tape ready, and when it spins tape it down
