Ok here goes please forgive me but i am still a newbie I have a dvd that is absolutely Knackered read errors all over the place, dvd decrypter can only rip the main movie, when i have done this i end up with 3 vob files and 2 dvd navigation files?
the vob files all play in power dvd but when i tried to use dvd shrink it comes up with an error can't find file (doesnt say which one ) can anyone tell me how i can use the 3 vob files to get back my movie or do i just give up Many thanx if anyone can help

do you get 3 vob's and 2 ifo files. What are the names of the ifo's. Is one of them video_ts.ifo or vob1_01.ifo or something like that.
Can you open shrink, click open files and click on the ifo that you have. What does that do.
What you want to do is see if you can get the ifo from the dvd. Set decrypter to ignore read errors, and try to copy the whole dvd (in file mode like you are doing)--see if this will let you get all the files.
Thanx for the quick reply what i get is 2 ifo files and 3vob files when i try to use DVD Shrink it tells me that it can't find the file specified i have tried to use DVD Decrypter but it throws up errors on reading the disc, it is a bckup of bulletproof monk, this is the only dvd i backed up on cheap media (bulkpaq) although it plays flawlessly in my standalone
If it is a backup, then all you have to do is drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder onto your desktop and burn it as usual. If u use Nero, then burn the files you dragged off the backup into the VIDEO_TS folder that Nero provides in DVD-Video mode.
Or...just do a disc to disc copy with yer burning software.
Decrypter and Shrink are designed to rip encrypted DVD's. Yer backup is not encrypted. That's why they won't work.
BTW...if u ever want to use Shrink to process files you've ripped with decrypter...rip the files with decrypter in FILE mode, which will rip ALL the files on the DVD. If u use IFO or ISO mode, Shrink will say it can't find the ifo file.
