either find a independent repair center to fix it, or find a refurbished sticker to put on it then send to m$ for repairs.
the refurb sticker will work.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

I know a lot of people with modded 360s under warranty who get it repaired by MS with no problem, me included.

My friend sent his xbox360 back to microsoft with no warranty sticker on it....
It had been opened and flashed....
He had the rrod...
They sent him a brand new one, he didn't pay a thing.

I would send it in... the worst thing they can do is ship it right back to you unprepaired... or call you and ask if you are willing to pay for the repair!

No, They will send it back to you especially with the ban wave going on now. Send it to xbox360-pros.com If you go there in person it will take 30 min. to fix. You could play games while you wait. It's in Long Island. If you can't get there mail it.They will re solder motherboard connections ,replace your x clamps and heat sinks and rplace you power supply with a better one that cools of the xbox. $ 149.99 for all this . If you mail it in it will cost $60-$80 dollars to fix plus shipping and handling. 90 day warrenty. I went down thhere and saw them in action ,no problems with my xbox. the fan is a little louder though but it does the trick. Here's the link if interestedhttp: //www.360-pros.com/ they are advertized on game spot.

So you are saying you didn't know that the warranty sticker that they place on the console, if removed, voids the warranty?
I'm confused here.

yeah but they guarantee at most 90 days...
while microsoft has the 1 year warranty after their repair/replacement.

But they wont fix it now since they have already had a look at it, and they stored on there system that it was tampered with, so its warranty is void. Very unlikely that they will even send you a box now to send it to them.

Id give M$ a call and ask what the tampered letter is all about... Play dumb, tell them that if they refuse to repair it you will contact the *what ever state you are in* attorney general.
If they mention something about the warranty sticker make some comment say... "wow, i didn't know you could remove the faceplate"
Its worth a try!
