XBox doesn't recognize games, but recognizes music/DVD's

Hi all. I tried to softmod my XBox today, but ran into a problem. It was running fine until I had to insert the Splinter Cell game. My XBox doesn't recognize the game disc. It brings up the "Make sure the disc is a game/DVD/music" message. If I put in a different game like Amped or something, it brings up this message again. However, if I put a music or DVD in the XBox, it recognizes it fine. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
