got a xbox 360 yesterday playin fine came to play it today n when i switch it on the lights around the standby button flash red even before iv started to play can anyone help me?

How many lights are flashing red? If its 3, then disconnect all leads and reconnect them, make sure the power cable is plugged in properly, if you still get 3 red lights, then theres a hardware problem with the 360, you should be covered under microsofts 3 year warranty, so they should fix it for you for free of charge.

all 4 lights are flashing red but only so often usually wen its switched ff for a few hours

There might be something wrong with the av socket or lead. Have you tried another lead?

make sure the video cable is snug because all four red lights is a video cable prob
