Hey guys and Gals, I have a problem I don't understand. Now I have been fairly successful ripping and burning dvd in the past....but I have a problem maybe some of you Experts may be able to figure out.
I first tried to copy Rush Hour 3 and it ripped fine....(I can watch it on my PC when clicking the VOB files). I use Windows vista Home and watched the ripped video on Power DVD 6. I have a purchased version of Anydvd (Worked great prior to this). When I bring up dvd shrink (with anydvd running) it goes thru the process reading and encoding the video from the ripped folder (I rip using anydvd) but even tried directly from disk.......It goes thru the burn process stating a successful burn. When I play the DVD on either one of my home dvd, there are serious issues. I have a regular DVD player which plays dvd+/- R disks No problem, but it goes to the play made when the disk is inserted....reads 0:00:000 and just sits there.....no buttons work for menu etc.... it wont even play. On the other dvd player (It is also a dvd/recorder the movie starts but starts in the middle of the movie.....(which it says is chapter 1). It seems to have made the chapters start well into the movie....so the actual start of the movie is like chapter 17 near the end of the disk.....because these are out of sequence...I guess the movie wont play. The only thing I did was burn the movie with No trailers or menu...movie only! My god...whats happening???? I also tried to copy Good luck chuck from a Divx rip online....creating a menu using Ulead dvd workshop 2....I have made many this way....and that movie is all out of sequence as well..... PS. When I look at the disks on my PC.....and I click on the vob files in order....everything seems normal! I even tried changing to different DVD blanks! I am goin crazy trying to figure it out.....any suggestions??????
Try DVDFab HD Decrypter, a free program to rip to your HDD. Find it here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm Use it to rip to your HDD, then use DVD Shrink to help burn to disc.
Also, there are several other threads concerning this movie. If this doesn't remedy your problem, you may try to search for those and read what others have used to make it work.
What FFsp42 said is correct, you should use DVDFab to rip the disc to your hard drive, but I would use VOBBlanker and or FixVTS after that to remove unwanted PGC cells. Then I would try import the files into shrink.
Also, for the record, there is already a thread with rush hour 3 info here:
I don't take anything from online archives for movies at all, so I wouldn't know where to help you with that. I back up all of my movies from physical media and in my opinion I would suggest you do the same for a higher success rate.
There is a thread for it as well, but most of us have already backed it up (it wasn't very hard). ; )
Cheers!
I have backed up both of these movies successfully with no real problems.
you now have the link for Rush Hour 3 and here's Good Luck Chuck - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/612505 though i see it's been downloaded so that link won't help you. However Searching is your friend
