I downloaded "Tomb Raider Anniversary" and burned it on a DVD but when I put in the disk, the screen picture keeps on shifting down and down over and over again. What's the problem?
it's not a modchip issue. like lilg said you're playing at a frequency your tv does not support... in other words, you're playing a PAL game on your NTSC tv. While a few modchips will automatically fix issues like that most do not and you have to patch your pal game to ntsc.

Do you have a pal or ntsc tv, which ever one you have, your going to have to patch your games, so that they will work at the frequency your tv supports, for example, if you have a pal tv, a pal console, and an ntsc game, then you going to have to patch the game to give you a pal signal, using a ntsc to pal patcher, it should then work fine. And just like "WEStar" said, it doesnt really have anything to do with your modchip, but you may be able to get the chip to automatically give you a pal signal, what modchip do you have installed in your slimline?
Honestly, I have no idea. I had bunch of other guys to do it for me and I don't think I can contact them again. But how do u patch the games? Is it done in the game burning process?
