Are you serious? It takes me a lot longer than that. It takes me more than that just to read the disc. The reason I'm using dvdxcopy platinum still is because I really don't have the money to spend on new software.

check and makesure your drives are in DMA mode if they get in PIO mode that will cause a slow down, use this guide

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

theres freeware DVD burning software you can use if you don't want to buy retail

dvdfab decrypter to rip dvd shrink to transcode(sometimes you will need to use FixVTS or VOB Blanker to clean the file before transcoding with dvd shrink) then nero, imgburn or dvd decrypter to burn.

http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

guides to use it

ZoSoIV your kinda underestimating it there... I doubt even with a Quadcore and 4Gb of RAM it would take 20 minutes to make a backup.. unless your just making a direct copy of the disc onto another blank one, than maybe yes..

poofs:

I use a combination of AnyDVD+Nero Recode 2, I use the highest quality settings possible and for most full-length films it takes me around an hour and a half to two hours to copy them.

Don't use DVDXCopy though, it's not a robust or reliable application and doesn't give that great quality either, I've used it before.
Try a combination of DVDShrink and ImgBurn, both are free and give excellent results, just follow the guides.

Or either Clone DVD or Nero Recode 2 are also two, outstanding "one-click" transcoders that will give you great quality and can shrink down most DVD9s to DVD5s with very little noticeable quality loss.
