I read a few tutorials on how to change the XMB Icons but, they say it only works on 3.5X. Will the same tutorials work with 3.71 M33 on the PSP slim? If not is there a link for the slim updated to 3.71 M33?

no, it wont. Go to dark-alex website and download the 3.71 M33.
