When I put a DVD into my playstation 2, it spins it but keeps spinning it and never stops. It used to say Disk Read Error but I changed the Laser, the laser lights up, I saw it (and now I'm blind ;) no, I wasn't looking directly at it. Anyway, I know it lights up it tries to read the disk and never stops. It is a 50001. Please help me I have run out of ideas. The laser I changed it for was another used laser, last time I tested it, it booted up a game from another console that I broke. but now it just lights up and spins the disk.
Well, it lights up so I am pretty sure it is plugged in properly, that orange plug is the only possible thing that can connect the laser to the power. Also, there are no cogs on the SCHPH-50001 playstation
NEVER EVER ADJUST THE COG WHEEL!!! There is a mirror underneath the lens you replaced, if you were the one that did it why didnt you see the mirror underneath the lens? In any case watch my vid on cleaning the dust from UNDERNEATH the lens. I find it amusing that people would change the top laser and never clean the bottom one.
