I have Sony's FW version 3.40 and I would like to get something like Dark Alex's firmware on my PSP. I have a PSP (fat) base FW: 2.60

I have searched and searched but every tutorial just says "We assume you have the 3.40 OE-A" or "You need to buy some crappy game that they dont even sell anywhere because they figured out their mistake in order to do a super magic trick to flash to this version and blah blah blah"

All I really want to know is how to get this crappy PSP with my crappy 3.40 Sony FW to play an emulator....I am willing to go through steps and risk the brick and all that if I could just find a solid tutorial that will help me and not people that already got their dark alex FW installed at a lower version.

Thanks in advance for whoever actually helps me solve this problem.

Slim or fat?? You'll have to make a pandoras battery. But we need to know if you have a slim or fat psp.

Also was just looking that up and the vid I saw on making one says if you don't have 1.50 FW or custom FW the Pandora's Battery wont work.

Do you have 3.40 or 2.60?

What does it say under System Settings System information then System Software?

Any firmware below 3.60 will be a FAT PSP. PSP SLIM firmware goes from 3.60 up.
