fat ps2 loads but returns back to boot up screen

my fat ps2 starts to load disc but never fully does. it doesn't say disc read error. it loads the disc but before the screen says playstation 2 it returns itself back to boot up screen. this ever happened to anyone if so ,can i get some help please??

what disc are you using? my swapmagic 3.6 plus cd version does that ALL the time, takes about 10 tries just to get it working -_- but now it seems like it doesnt work at all. alot of ppl seem to have that problem with the swap magic cd version, very few times the dvd version. there really isnt anything you can do about it. if its brand new try to get the dealer to trade you a new 1 in or get your $$$ back.
