Endless Ocean PAL update on my NTSC Wii has frozen the eject button?

I was going to try out Endless Ocean, and left it to my wife to start it up as shes a big Scuba fan. Unfortunately there was a Wii update included, she installed it, and after playing the disc for a bit (which worked fine) we switched discs to Mario Galaxy, and now it doesn't read it (says 'insert disc') but also won't eject it! Anybody had a problem like this? my Mario Galaxy disc is stuck in there!

Somehow I do not think it has anything to do with Endless Ocean: LINK

Also, the DVD drive has a fuse that can blow and cause the eject/load disc problem.
