i dont know for how long bestbuy.com is going to have this sale, but on sunday dec.14, they have memorex dvd+r or dvd-r media on sale. 50pk for $49.99 us dollars, plus free shipping. that's damn near a dollar a disk if you do the math. i suggest you take advange of this sale if you like memorex media, or ritek, since they are the ones that manufacture for memorex.

Officedepot.com has a better deal.

Memorex 25 pack spindles. Add 2 to your cart, and the paper clips, and get 50 disks for about $40 plus tax.

No shipping charges for me. No rebates - best buy had a $50 rebate offer on their deal.

Office Depot worked for me. $43.56 (with sales tax and free shipping) for 2 - 25pk Memorex DVD-R. Thanks Akash. The paper clips was expecially clever.

I wouldn't recommend using Memorex DVD-r or +r media, especially for backing up games. I have had problems with Memorex DVDr's especially when it comes to audio in PS2 games. I have several games that the audio skips, especially songs. I have used many different brands, but when all the audio problems I have had have been only with Memorex media. There are also glitches in dvd movies I backed up with Memorex media. TDK, Verbatim, Fuji and even Imation haven't given me any problems at all. I no longer buy Memorex media, reguardless of price.

i wouldnt know about ps2 games since i havent backed up any yet, still waiting on my order of smd, and my ps2 flip top. but movie wise, ive backed up over 60 movies, and none of them have what you are talking about. i guess it depends on the software you use to burn the media, dont you think?

I know my problem isn't a software problem, since I always use the same method and never had a problem with other media. For movies I use DVD Shrink, then Nero to burn the disc.

I once thought it migth be a problem due to burn speed, but I have the same issues with Memorex media burning at 4x or 1x. Needless to say, Memorex is a brand I ALWAYS steer clear of.

Actually as for the original post I have memorex 4x media from Staples. I put it through DVD Decrypter and it shows CMC MAG. AF1 as the manufacturer. This is definately not Ritek. I have used this media for roughly 100+ burns and get great results on my 4 year old Proscan and Panasonic (also 4 years old) but can't play anything on a brand new Sony 5 disc DVD changer which is advertised as able to read dvd+-r & rw. Go figure. Just letting you know

ok this is kinda of getting into a war. who's right who's wrong. who cares, my original post was just to keep you guys updated on a sale. so far, ive only used clone dvd along with any dvd and made close to 100 burns, using ONLY MEMOREX. thats why i specificaly posted, the memorex media on sale. some people like the brand others hate it, im on the side that likes the brand. ive tried it in more than 6 dvd players, recent ones, old ones, brand name, non-brand name. even on my ps2 v4, that supposively isn't suppose to read dvd+r media, and they work great there also.all ive done is looked at a sale and tought you guys might of find it intresting and check it out yourselves, others found elsewhere to get it cheaper, good for them heck i wish i wouldve copped memorex at officedepot.com for 43 dollars. next time ill just keep my mouth shut.
